  • “I am writing to express my experience with Dr. Robert Greenleaf, who performed two laminectomies as well as spinal fusion surgery on me on Friday, February 26, 2021. During 2020 I lived with significant pain every day. I had exhausted every possible remedy, such as pain injections, physical therapy, and acupuncture. Nothing helped. The decision to have the surgery was one that weighed heavily on me. However, I finally reached the point of no return. Dr. Greenleaf is an exceptional physician and surgeon. I am in awe regarding how well I have felt since the surgery, and every day I feel better. I had my follow-up appointment with Laura Ann today, and it went very well. Dr. Greenleaf is a master of his trade, and his bedside manner is stellar. Throughout the process of occasionally meeting with him during 2020 to discuss the pros and cons of surgery, he was always honest about the nature of the surgery and the recovery and healing trajectories. He never promoted the surgery; instead, he was informative, thorough, and realistic. He is a God-send to me. I can NEVER repay what he has done for my health, state-of-mind, and quality of life. My recovery is going better than I could have ever imagined, and that is because my surgeon is outstanding. I am singing his praises and I will until I take my last breath (please excuse the drama, but I am sincere). If there is ANYTHING I can do to promote my indebtedness to Dr. Greenleaf, please let me know. I want to recommend him to anyone who wants to be pain free and who wants to feel the joy of being so. Very truly yours.”

  • “The best experience with any doctor ever. The first time in five years pain-free. The only doctor to take my case. I thank God I found him. Not only an outstanding spine surgeon, caring, understanding, and willing to explain what my needs where and how he would go about the operation. The staff and hospital were so caring and giving. What more can be said just the greatest, thanks to all for the wonderful care.”

  • “I had back pain for years go to find out that my L4 and L5 was bone on bone. I went to Dr. Greenleaf and he told me to try back needles first. He was not pushing me into back surgery he told me that should be my last resort. So I tried needles but they only worked for short periods of time. So I went back to Dr. Greenleaf and told him it was time. His staff got me scheduled for surgery, everything was so easy working with them.  They told me what to do to prepared me. Dr. Greenleaf did the surgery on June 22, 2015 he put in two pins and four screws. Dr. Greenleaf came to see me everyday that I was in the hospital and answered all my questions and concerns he had the best bedside manners. I followed up with him and he and he was always concern of my health. On December 28, 2015 I was involved in a car accident and I went to see Dr. Greenleaf, he assured me that everything was good with my back however, I had problems with my right hip again he did not rush into surgery that he said I will eventually need he told me to get shots in my hip. I had my first shot about a month ago with Dr. Axelrod she was a loving and caring Doctor. The staff that schedules my office visits with regards to my accident case have been wonderful and very efficient when scheduling my appointments.”

  • “Dr. Greenleaf is a very compassionate physician. When you are a patient of his you are not treated as just another surgical case, you are a person whose questions and concerns matter. He takes the time to explain all procedures and at the end of every office visit he invites his patients to call the office with any additional questions. When I did so on a couple of occasions, he personally returned my phone call each time. That is a rarity among doctors. I had an appointment for a second opinion regarding by back, an appointment that I ultimately cancelled, as I was not even permitted to speak to the other surgeon’s surgical coordinator. With Dr. Greenleaf, patients have full access to his coordinator from day one; and his staff is as professional and caring as he is. I am currently about six weeks post op and I am pain free!  For the first time in nearly two years I am now able to roll over in bed without pain shooting down the backs of my legs. I have some lingering numbness and muscle weakness, although these symptoms are very much improved since my surgery and are minor compared to what I had been experiencing. I am also told that these remaining symptoms should slowly dissipate. My condition is overwhelmingly improved thanks to Dr. Greenleaf!  ”

  • “Dr. Greenleaf is wonderful. I went to your facilities because I had driven a friend there when she had a broken foot. He really really listened; paid attention; let me ask questions; explained things. He made me feel really comfortable putting the surgery in his hands. After my initial meeting and prior to surgery, I kept meeting doctors and his patients who talked about how wonderful his treatment was; how good was their recovery. He was attentive and listened to me in the hospital after my surgery, and explained why I was in pain, and then managed my pain... I have already passed his name on to two people who need surgery. I was very very scared approaching doing the surgery; and now feel optimistic and am looking forward to feeling healthy and pain-free after many years of suffering.  ”

  • “I met Dr. Greenleaf after I had been admitted to the emergency room for Cauda Equina Syndrome. Dr. Greenleaf was friendly and reassuring to me in my time of need. He was informative and explained the procedure in a way that I could understand, as well as why it was beneficial for me to receive surgery. I never felt pressured to make any surgical decision and he allowed me to consult with my family and other physicians before I agreed to surgery. I recovered quickly and the surgery was a success. I am now pain-free and back to my regular exercise regime just three months later.”

  • “Had unbearable sciatic pain in back, buttocks, and right leg all the way to the big toe. Dr. Greenleaf suggested a laminectomy would rid me of the pain. He rated the chance of success at 95%. Immeadiately after the surgery the sciatic pain was gone. Dr. Greenleaf's pre-surgical explanations were concise and easy to understand. He talked to me at length and answered all my questions. I soon felt that I could trust him and asked for the procedure to be done ASAP. The surgical pain from the laminectomy post-op was minimal, certainly compared to the sciatic pain I had been enduring prior. When I meet people who have back pain I tell them to contact Reconstructive Orthopedics and make an appointment with Dr. Greenleaf. HE IS THE MAN!!!  ”
