- “Oh, hip pain. Oh arthritis, bone on bone. I met Dr. Marcelli three years ago, I was really struggling and not taking part in all aspects of my life. He discussed hip surgery however supportively discussed how my weight would add complications to the surgery. I had bariatric surgery and now, 130 pounds less, I had my hip replaced. Dr. Marcelli is amazing. He helped me make the "right" decisions about my surgical procedure and recovery. And now, I can take part in all aspects of my life, including walking around New York City with my son and going to the beach just 7 weeks after surgery. - “I had both knees replaced the left knee in May 2015 and the right knee in January 2016. Dr. Klingenstein did a great job.The recovery was a not bad at all I was out and about in 2 weeks. - “Dr. Murray operated on my right knee this past March. I found him to be an exceptional surgeon. He is very easy to talk with, honest and explains everything to you before and after the surgery. I found my post op office visits to be very good and his availability is excellent if I needed to see him before a scheduled appointment. He operated on my wife about 2 months before myself on her right hip and she has been doing great. The timetable and what to expect has been right on point and she has been doing well and is very pleased. Dr. Murray is an excellent surgeon, communicator, and all around nice human being. Very smart. I will be needing further surgery on my knees at some point and Dr. Murray is who I will call when that time comes. - “I needed a hip replacement and while at my work a customer had told me that Dr. Manny Porat was excellent. So I did some research and attended an informational session at the Reconstructive Institute and then decided that I needed to have this done. It has now been close to six months since my replacement and I can honestly say I am sleeping through the nights with no pain. It was the best decision I could have made. - “Dr. Porat took time with me, really listened to what my problem was. Then after he looked at my knee and spine X-rays, he was able to give me a diagnosis. I was quite relieved to find out it was just a pinched nerve causing the numbness and aching in my left leg. He gave me a chance to ask questions, and gave me a way to ease the pain. She has helped me to deal with my pain and suggested procedures which have even eradicated most of the pain in my neck. Dr. Marcelli did a great job on the surgery, but more importantly he did an excellent job of dealing with an older patient who went through a series of anxiety problems as well as physical problems. After the first 6 weeks, I was able to begin P.T. and he monitored my progress and through our monthly office visits kept me going in the right direction. - “I am a retired transplant nurse. After 20 years of nursing my knees were really starting to bother me. It affected my work and family activities. My family, for several years, was pushing for me to see hat could be done. I tried the injections every 6 months but they didn't help mich. I was hesitant to consider surgery because of the long recovery period. Then a friend told me about Dr. Schoifet and his approach to knee surgery. I had both my knees done last year 3 months apart. I just had my 1-year checkup and I'm feeling great. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I have fun again with my grandkids and I am looking forward to dancing at my class reunion this fall. - “Dr. Greenleaf is wonderful. I went to your facilities because I had driven a friend there when she had a broken foot. He really really listened; paid attention; let me ask questions; explained things. He made me feel really comfortable putting the surgery in his hands. After my initial meeting and prior to surgery, I kept meeting doctors and his patients who talked about how wonderful his treatment was; how good was their recovery. He was attentive and listened to me in the hospital after my surgery, and explained why I was in pain, and then managed my pain... I have already passed his name on to two people who need surgery. - “From the time of admittance to the time of discharge I received personalized attention and care. My most apprehensive moments were pre-op due to my phobia about needles but this part of the procedure went very smoothly. The OR staff were attentive and considerate and my surgeon is a master at his craft. The recovery room staff were with me all the time and monitored my condition with care. Love the Popsicle! Dinner was waiting for me when I was taken to my room. This was very much appreciated since I had not eaten since the night before. The floor was busy that night due to the number of surgeries that day but that did not prevent my nurse and tech from meeting my needs. Even though it was almost midnight before I was able to get out of bed they were there to assist me and make sure I got the time out of bed that was needed to aid in my recovery. The PT staff were very helpful with the techniques I needed to be most comfortable upon my return home. I requested a little extra assistance bc this was my second TKR within three months so I did not feel as confident with this new knee as the other was still recovering.
