Colleen Thornton, C.R.N.P., O.N.P.-C., C.R.N.F.A.

Colleen Thornton is a nurse practitioner, with a focus in orthopedics since 2006. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing from The Johns Hopkins University.  Before her nursing education, Colleen received her undergraduate degree in biology at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore.

Prior to joining Virtua Reconstructive Orthopedics, Colleen worked as a nurse practitioner in the Division of Spine Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital from 2006 to 2010. She has also worked in orthopedics at Rothman Institute from 2010 to 2017. Colleen has received her orthopedic nurse practitioner certification, as well as her first assistant certification to assist surgeons in the operating room. Colleen has taught and been a guest lecturer as adjunct faculty at the Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing.

Outside of work, you can find Colleen training for the next running race or at a boot camp. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
