Lauren grew up in Upstate New York and attended undergraduate and graduate school at the University at Buffalo on a Division I softball scholarship. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree in 2008 and began working in the field of addiction medicine.
While at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, New York, Lauren developed a new curriculum and led the Women’s Day Treatment program, offering a level of care that had not been present previously in the region. She also spent time at Thomas Jefferson University’s Family Center before returning to physician assistant school. During this time, Lauren also participated in roller derby, reaching the highest level of competition by becoming one of the first members of Team USA in 2011 – 2012.
Lauren’s interest in orthopedics stems from her time spent as an athlete as well as the opportunity to specialize in a practice that offers hands-on patient care experience while utilizing her skill set in treating the whole patient. Her special interests include surgery and conditions of the female athlete.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends, including her husband and their two rescue dogs, Ozzie and Ziggy.
