“As a relatively young man (53 at the time), I faced a difficult decision of choosing total knee replacement versus reconstructive surgery. Dr. Mariani was very thorough in explaining all the elements that should be taken into consideration and evaluated from my specific perspective. In the end, the conclusion was for total knee replacement, and I could not be happier with my decision. I am pain-free and only experience some occasional stiffness which can generally get attributed to either overuse or lack of use. The key here is that I am capable of actually "using" my knee where before I didn't have normal function.
