To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce traffic and strain on hospitals and traditional urgent care facilities, Reconstructive Orthopedics is offering telemedicine appointments as an alternative approach to seeing patients with orthopedic injuries and conditions. Telemedicine enables patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained providers from the comfort of their own home or office using video conference and telecommunications technology, such as a smartphone, tablet, computer or laptop.
In addition to offering telemedicine appointments, Reconstructive Orthopedics is continuing to provide emergent patient care through their two OrthoExpress clinics in Medford and Pitman as well as at six of their office locations: Medford, located at 131 Route 70, Suite 100; Moorestown, located at 401 Young Ave., Suite 245; Pitman, located at 614 Lambs Road, Suite C; Sewell, located at 570 Egg Harbor Road, Suite C-4; Vineland, located at 994 W. Sherman Ave.; and Voorhees, located at 200 Bowman Drive, Suite 100.
“We want to do our part to reduce the stress on our health system so that hospitals and traditional urgent care facilities can focus on fighting COVID-19 cases,” says Joe DeSilva, CEO of Reconstructive Orthopedics.
Through telemedicine, the practice’s specialty-trained experts will be able to offer follow-up care and provide diagnoses for a majority of bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions. This new, secure technology complies with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, high-quality orthopedic care without risk to themselves and others as well as the practice’s providers and staff.
“At Reconstructive Orthopedics, the health and safety of our patients and staff remain our top priority,” says DeSilva. “Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that our communities continue to have access to essential orthopedic care, and while our offices are closed to non-emergent patient care, we are still available to see patients during this unfortunate time of crisis through telemedicine appointments.”
