The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Schoifet.
  • “I actually saw Dr. Schoifet's PA Cara. The visit went well. Cara did some tests on my right knee and said that I have a weaken quad muscle and that was allowing my kneecap to move around. She gave me an exercise program of riding a bike to strengthen the muscle. I will follow up in April. My family and I have been patients of Reconstructive Orthopedics since the 1970's. I have always found everyone to be kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Whenever I hear of someone talking about a need for orthopedic help, I always suggest your practice.”

  • “I am very pleased with every person that I been in contact with at your practice from the front desk to X-ray technicians, PA's and doctors. Katy Whaley has been so responsive and helpful to me for any little detail that I needed help with. It is so obvious to me that the tone at the top is all about patient care and all your employees are motivated to provide good care. The doctors must make everybody feel valued. I can't say enough good things about all of you and I tell everyone I know.”

  • “I've had OA of both knees since I was 46, and they continued to get worse over the last 6 years. I tried the cortisone & Orthovisc injections, did some physical therapy and took a lot of Advil. I was to the point where I couldn't walk 10 minutes around the block without being in agony. My range of motion became so poor that I couldn't pedal anymore on a stationary bike so my only exercise was the warm water pool which felt good. My back issues started flaring up more as I was walking funny and my legs became very bowed. I kept putting off surgery because of my age, some fear, and thought I'd have to wait until the pain was severe enough to keep me up at night. One day I talked to someone who had their knee replaced by Dr Schoifet & said it was great, no more pain and his back pain disappeared! That day I decided to make an appointment and was soon scheduled for surgery in 3 months. I was happy, but also a little nervous about complications and fear of the pain. My first surgery was surprisingly easy and pain minimal, until of course, physical therapy, and trying to get that bend. :) I got through it & scheduled my 2nd knee four months later. Again, recovery wasn't bad, a little more painful, but I had better results once both were done. My legs are now straight, no more grinding, and that horrible ache is gone. My sciatica also disappeared. I really wish I would've done it sooner as I waited too long. My legs are still getting stronger & I feel so much better. It's been 4 months since my last surgery, and I can now ride a stationary bike for 30 minutes and walk around the block with ease. For anyone considering surgery, don't wait, you'll be so glad you had it done. ”

  • “Just had my second knee replacement 8 weeks ago, first one was one year ago. With each one was back to work within 2 weeks. Physical therapy immediately as an outpatient was the key to my recovery. I no longer have any pain, first time in ten years, Aleve is not part of my daily meds. The doctor and his staff are the best, recommend them every opportunity I get to speak to someone who is living the way I did for 10 years.”

  • “It was a wonderful experience. I was given so much positive encouragement. It seemed that what I was told took place exactly that was. There were no surprises. Dr. Schoifet and Kristen were wonderful. I recommend if you need a new knee, this is the place to come. I loved it so much, I'm getting my second knee replaced.”

  • “It has been a year since my first knee replacement and in November it will be a year for my second one. For nearly eight years I received shots in my knees. At first it relieved the discomfort but finally I accepted the fact that a knee replacement was in my future. One thing that was important was that I needed to put aside the weeks that I needed to properly recover.... Time for me. Once I was committed there was no looking back. The preparation before the surgeries went smoothly. All my appointments were conveniently arranged by Dr.Schoifet's coordinator as were any questions I may have had. The day of the procedures went smoothly with the help of the nursing staff at Virtua. After the operation, I was attended to by friendly and professional nurses and staff. Both surgeries went without any problem and I was on my way home by two o'clock the following days. I was cared for at home by Virtua nurses and physical therapists before I started outside PT. Again, both the nurse and physical therapist were attentive and professional. It may sound like knee surgery is a breeze. Well, it is not.... Yes, it is painful, yes there is swelling and bruising, yes it is hard to sleep and be comfortable and yes the exercises hurt but with each day that goes by there is improvement. By six weeks, I was back to near normal and feeling GREAT and thankful. My advice to other patients is elevate, elevate, elevate and do your exercise as many times as advised. It's hard at first but as you are doing them it does feel good. When I laid in bed one night I decided to climb the steps of the Art Museum in Philly on the 1st Anniversary of my knee replacement. I am pleased and excited to say that on August 24,2016 I proudly climbed the steps with a smile and a little tear of joy. Thanks for my life back.”

  • “I was excited to be able to get out on my own 3 weeks after knee replacement. My other knee, done by another company took many months for me to recover. I have brought two other friends with knee problems to have the same great treatment as I had.”

  • “I found Dr. Sohoifet purely by accident - he was recommended to me on a scrap of paper at a dinner my firm hosting in Atlantic City.  Since then I've had my two knees replaced with him in 2013 and 2016, yet I live in northern NJ outside NYCity. This practice group is top flight. With my last knee replacement this year I was back at my office the following week with a cane albeit on slightly reduced hours, so I cannot say more about the doctor's excellent work. The practice staff is great; all of them appear to enjoy their roles and spend plenty of time with you. The doctor's Physician Assistants I met have were trained by being involved in the actual procedures, so they were competent to answer my many questions. In both my PT afterwards, both trainers said they had not seen a patient recover so quickly from total knee replacement surgery. I'm an expert skier and the replacement of my first knee has made no difference on the slopes, in the bump fields, or through the woods. Of course, as Dr. Schoifet says, take it easy - you can still fracture your legs! I have so much confidence in this group that my wife will be getting a partial knee replacement this fall. She is anxious to have her procedure having seen my two speedy recoveries and ability to enjoy unfettered mobility again.”

  • “I am currently on the every 3 month shot program putting knee replacement on hold until the shots stop working. I have been scheduled with different physician assistants in different offices and have been extremely pleased with whomever I have seen. Waited a while to get my first appointment with Dr. Schoifet but wouldn't consider going anywhere else. He comes highly recommended by many people I have come in contact with at my business. I wrote his name down years ago knowing I was headed for knee replacements. Great office staff too!!!”

  • “My bilateral knee replacements took place June 7, 2006. My left hip was replaced Feb. 11, 2012. With the exception of always having a reaction to the anesthesia, I am doing quite well. I am able to walk with no limps, get into my kayak (a bit challenging to get out) and enjoy paddling the lakes and rivers of the area and enjoy life as a 78 year old senior. I keep very active, always recommend Reconstructive Orthopedics to others and I, myself, would only use this group of doctors, especially Dr. Schoifet who has performed all my surgeries including a neuroma on my left foot and a Baker's cyst behind my left leg (quite a few years ago). We have the best right here in Burlington Co., little to no need to go into Phila. or use their doctors.  Our doctors have perfected minimally evasive surgery.  My very best to their future successes.”

  • “I had my surgery on March 31st and every day I think about how much it has restored my quality of life. My activity had dropped off due to the arthritis in my left knee. Before surgery, I was fully supported by my Nurse Navigator, Sandy D. She was always there to answer my questions as I prepared for this major life event. I also utilized the Guided Care Path application. Between the application and the individual support from Sandy, I was comfortable with understanding what to expect when I finally had the surgery and what to expect after the surgery. As soon as I was out of surgery, I was happy to start rehab. I had surgery on a Thursday, was off the walker by the following Monday, and off my cane within two weeks. Dr. Schoifet told me multiple times that I was highly motivated and I was. I tell everyone about him and my experience. I highly recommend Reconstructive Orthopedics to anyone who asks me about my surgery and I proudly show them my scar. Only four months since surgery, they are amazed at how I have healed and how minimal the scar is. As I continue to get to a fully healed state, I feel better day after day. I am back to all of my activities and it amazes me that I can now use the recumbent bike - prior to the surgery, I could not tolerate the bend in my knee. Now, I am able to ride the bike without pain! Thanks to everyone and particularly to Dr. Schoifet.”

  • “Dr. Schoifet is a great listener and retains most of your information from visit to visit. He is direct with a sincere tenderness that we all can relate to during a very painful time in our healthcare. Due to healthcare protocol, my process to get to a knee replacement was a little longer than I expected. It was important to Dr. Schoifet that I try absolutely everything prior to talking about surgery which is very uncommon for a surgeon. He has operated on a few people I know and they too speak very highly of him and his demeanor. The first thing they say about him when you mention his name is "He is the best in his field"  I truly agree!”
