- “I struggle with lower back pain and numbness in my foot for several years and had heard of Dr. Sanflippo from many different people. I had gone to several doctors over the years and he actually called me on a Friday afternoon to reassure me everything would be Ok. As that assured me to go with him as I had seen at least a dozen doctors since my work injury in 2002. I still struggle, but have some relief, but my right foot is numb inside. The staff for Dr. Sanfilippo are great ! Everyone always calls me back when I have an issue or question! After receiving a cortisone shot in each knee, I continued a few more weeks of therapy, left and continued on my own. The discomfort has subsided, and the flexibility in my bad knee has improved greatly- with that the discomfort in my good knee subsided. - “I sustained multiple pelvic fractures in an accidental fall while at work. I was transported to JFK-WT ER where I was treated like a VIP. When my X-rays failed to show any fractures, an MRI was done which did identify three non-displaced fractures in my anterior pelvic area as well as one in my sacrum. I was discharged to home that night and was contacted early the following morning by your service to be seen and evaluated by Dr Marcelli that day. I was surprised by the expediency of that first visit. Upon my arrival in the waiting area, a young lady came to me and recorded the answers to the admission questionnaire. She was very professional and polite. My initial encounter with Dr Marcelli was preceded by a young man who entered the room to take a brief history and the details of my injury. Again, he was very professional and polite. Dr. Marcelli saw me next and was fully prepared to discuss with me the extent of my injuries and the implications as he had already viewed my diagnostic imaging studies. He was prompt, extremely professional, very polite, and gave me the needed time to ask my questions and receive comprehensive answers. I have returned to the same office twice since then and actively remain under his care. I could not be more pleased with the level of care and caring displayed by all members of his staff as well as Dr Marcelli himself. I have never felt rushed or have left with unanswered questions. It is clearly evident that Dr Marcelli has as much respect for a patients' time as I do for his time and expertise. This entire orthopedic group deserves a 5- star rating in every area of customer service. I am a Nurse Practitioner with Kennedy Health Alliance and I feel I am well-qualified to respond to this survey from both sides of the spectrum: patient and healthcare professional.
