- “I have had arthritis in both of my knees for over 15 years. It was gradually getting worse and in December it was really bad in my left knee, I had been recommended to Dr. Jain and finally called for an appointment. The x rays revealed a bone spur in that knee which made walking very uncomfortable. After not too much thought I felt it was time to finally get at least one fixed. I had surgery on April 26, 2016, and after the recovery process which included a very difficult 6 weeks of therapy I am now walking great and there is no pain in that knee. I know I will have to get the right knee done at some point in the future but I am not ready yet. - “Dr. Matthew Brant was my surgeon. He is very caring, professional and a highly skilled surgeon. I have been suffering with bunions for years and being a nurse on my feet all day can make it challenging for proper fitting shoes as well as pain with long periods of standing and walking. My surgery was a breeze. I realize people have trepidation about bunion surgery but I had minimal to no pain post-operatively as compared prior to my surgery. So I took their advice and made an appointment and went to see him. He made me feel so relaxed and took the time to explain everything to me in a non condescending way, including the things I didn't want to hear such as how my weight effects my knee. for years I tried all types of injections such as cortizone and gel with no relief from the pain and was told over and over I was to young to have the knee replacement I needed. I fully understood what they were saying but they didn't seem to understand the debilitating pain I was in constantly. Dr. Jain seemed to understand what I was saying and going through. My surgery in a few months, in the meantime his office staff and the patient portal had made the stress so much easier. I suffered an injury in 1974 as a teenager and ended up with several pins and a steel plate in my hip which pretty much made my hip joint fused and my right leg shorter. I lived with this for 40 years until 2 years ago when the pain became too much and quality of life became an issue. From my first visit to Reconstructive Orthopedics and meeting with Dr. Marcelli I knew I was in the right place. The office and staff are top shelf. Dr. Marcelli replaced the old hardware with a new state of the art hip joint and with some rehab and exercise I now am living a normal life. My wife and I now are able to take long walks and bike rides every night and there is nothing like living pain-free, what a wonderful feeling. Like I said, Dr. Marcelli gave me my life back. Not only is Dr. Marcelli a great surgeon, he also shows tremendous personal care to his patients. - “Met Dr. Reid June 2015 when he did emergency surgery on my mother's shattered femur and hip. When I met and spoke to Dr. Reid, I had been having reoccurring knee pain and was told prior that I would need knee replacement on both knees. I knew Dr. Reid was the ortho surgeon to perform my total knee replacement. I am only 3 weeks out of surgery but I am per my physical therapist had a great doctor perform the surgery and I am well ahead of others who have had the same surgery. He always advised me to get second opinions for anything that I thought was questionable before he would perform any procedures on me or my family members and if he did not feel as though he had the expertise on a problem that I had he recommended a doctor that could correct my problem for me. I will soon have hip replacement performed by doctor Marcelli, but once again before he was willing to perform this service he advised me to get a second opinion for my condition.
