- “I had right knee replacement on October 11, 2016. I was very scared as at 58 years old I never had major surgery in my life. From the first meeting with Dr. Porat I felt comfortable that he was the right surgeon for me. Dr. Porat spent nearly an hour explaining everything to my husband and me.He is a very caring and personable surgeon. His "bedside" manners are great and comforting when you are as scared as I was. The WellBeMe care portal was very helpful and allowed me to read articles at my own pace. My Nurse Navigator Joan McBride was AWESOME! She was very patient with me and my millions of questions and fears. I was in contact with her via email and a few phone calls after our initial call right up until my surgery. I owe a lot of the success of my surgery to her as she helped me be as prepared as possible for the procedure. Every time I have called Chriscelle Durmond at Dr. Porat's office she has been very nice and helpful as well. She always gets back to me and makes me feel like whatever my questions are that they are very important. At all of my office visits I have had really nice and caring staff working with me as well. The staff at Virtua Voorhees took excellent care of me during my stay. I have had minimal pain and have more flexibility and use of this knee then in many, many years and it is just 90 days after surgery. THANK-YOU to Dr. Porat and his whole team for taking such great care of me and giving me my life back! - “Dr. Sanfilippo is absolutely one of the best surgeons that you have in your practice (although he has competition, in my eyes, with another of your physicians!). When I first came to see Dr. Sanfilippo, I had terrible pain and then numbness and tingling in my left arm and leg. He performed neck surgery, and that was gone and continues to be gone. I had suffered with this for at least 40 years, and Dr. Sanfilippo was a miracle worker in my eyes. - “On the whole, my experience was excellent. I was particularly impressed by how well-organized the entire experience was. I was also impressed by the high level of concern and care of everyone with whom I had contact. A few suggestions: 1. I do not believe I was sufficiently warned that my knee flexibility would be permanently reduced. 2. I was not sufficiently aware of how expensive physical therapy co-pay would be. I will be forever grateful that I was able to obtain a reduced rate. Would 2 weeks of in-house physical therapy have reduced my co-pay? 3. Ivy Rehab in Voorhees was far better than any other physical therapy I have ever experienced. I don't know how or if you can make that abundantly clear to your patients, but it would be beneficial to your patients if you could figure out a way. 4. Your computer systems are innovative and impressive but could stand better quality control. That is often the price of innovation.”Patient Rating:

- “My first visit with Dr. Dwyer was for a laceration to my elbow. Luckily that was healing fairly well at the time. Since I had the doctor's attention, I asked about pain in my right hand. He too a look and diagnosed the issue in less than five minutes. Also, advised me that he would be able to fix the issue with a shot. Upon returning to Dr. Dwyer for a follow up on my laceration - which has healed, we again discussed the hand issue. I made my appointment for the shot a few weeks later. Every step of the process from initial office visit to the surgery and post-surgery follow-up was one of excellence. My post-surgery recovery was much quicker and less painful than I anticipated and I achieved full functional abilities within three months after my knee replacement. - “After years of losing strength on the left side of my body, I had an MRI done. The MRI showed a cervical disc issue. A friend recommended Dr. Sanfilippo who had performed surgery on her for a similar issue and she had a really good experience. I met with Dr. Sanfilippo and he knew right away after viewing the disc what my problem was and how to fix it. I was so relieved that someone finally listened to me. For years I was referred to pain management doctors which were useless. From that appointment forward I couldn't have wished for a better experience. Dr. Sanfilippo, the staff at Reconstructive from the front desk personnel to x-ray to the PA's were professional, courteous and welcoming. I always felt like my care was their priority and I couldn't have been more appreciative. The pre-admission testing interview at Virtua Memorial was also a great experience. I met with Nurse Terry Scafide. She made you feel like she was a long lost friend that you were having coffee with. Simply charming and made that part a breeze. The surgery was explained in detail to me a few times by Dr. Sanfilippo. In his office and before surgery. He speaks to you and not at you. He makes you very comfortable and you sense that you're in good hands. The surgery was very successful and the recovery was just how it was explained to me and there were no surprises. All post-op appointments were just as good. I started gaining strength back that I had not had in years. As I told Dr. Sanfilippo, his hands and his ability to use them to heal people are a gift. - “Beginning with my initial visit with Dr. Jain in the Voorhees office in September up to partial right knee replacement performed on 11/22/16, my entire experience with everyone involved in my care at Virtua has been nothing short of exceptional. Receptionists, secretaries, nursing staff, medical assistants, PA's, and physicians were outstanding. During the time leading up to my surgery, having the Nurse Navigation Patient Access Team available whenever I had a question was very comforting. All the information contained in the Wellbe site was complete and easy to understand. As the surgery date drew closer, it was reassuring to have access to review the FAQ's and preoperative instructions at any time. Nothing was left to chance with regard to obtaining PAT's, preoperative medical clearance, medication instructions, pre and postoperative home care instructions. At the time we arrived at registration on 11/22, Karen Paladino took care of all my paperwork, necessary signatures, and was more than willing to answer any questions we had. My husband felt included in every aspect of the pre-surgery activities. We tried to get everyone's name throughout the day who was involved in my care so that each of them can be recognized for their compassion, friendliness, support and professionalism. My husband and I would like to commend our admitting nurse Terry, Will (RN, who was funny and so cheerful that early in the morning and also being the last person I remember seeing prior to nodding off just before Dr. Desai administered my spinal anesthesia), Stephanie, Sonya, Debbie, Rob, Nicole, Betsy, Dawn, Nancy, Darlene, Melanie, Shanell, AJ, and Jenny. I'm sure there were many "behind the scenes" whom we can't thank by name, but please be assured that everyone involved from beginning to end on that day is very much appreciated and I would like them know that. Lastly, I am so appreciative of Dr. Jain for taking the time during my initial visit in September to carefully explain all my options and also make me feel as if I was his only patient that day (I had been told of his remarkable bedside manner but truly never encountered any physician like him). I have had a remarkable recovery so far, feel wonderful, and am very grateful to Dr. Jain and everyone at Virtua for being so committed to providing outstanding medical care, along with exceptional patient service. After having worked in the medical field since 1973, I can honestly say that I have never seen or experienced anything like Virtua.
